Bitter Gooseberry.
After the Fuchsia-Flowered Gooseberry this is our most common gooseberry in the front country (and it can also be found in the back). Generally starts blooming in mid-January and I have seen an outlier blooming as late as the end of April.
Can be distinguished from the Hillside Gooseberry because it has a wider bloom and a second patch of red below the flared petals. Can be distinguished from Canyon Gooseberry by the second red patch again.
