Galium aparine

Wildflowers Dicots Eudicots Asterids Gentianales Rubiaceae Galium

Common bedstraw.

There appears to be some debate as to whether this plant is introduced or not.

Seen blooming in March and April on most trails.

Square stem, velcro-like hairs, whorled leaves (with 6 or 8 leaves in a whorl), small white blooms emerging from the whorls.

These double seeds started appearing in mid-April.
