Asphodelus fistulosus

Wildflowers Monocots Asparagales Asphodelaceae Asphodelus

Asphodel. Formerly in the lily family.

The California Invasive Plant Council deems that this plant causes serious problems for native ecosystems. It’s all over our roads. I haven’t seen it on trails much, but it’s on roadsides.

Blooms year-round in wet years, but at its peak March-May.
