Leptosiphon parviflorus

Wildflowers Dicots Eudicots Asterids Ericales Polemoniaceae Leptosiphon

Variable Linanthus, or False Babystars. Formally Linanthus parviflorus.

Seen on Arroyo Burro trail (backside), at Forbush, Cottam and down by the Grotto in grassy areas.

The flowers are mostly white with a few pink ones (sometimes on the same plant). The flowers are in small umbrels with a small tuft of bracts.

Opposite leaves, but each leaf is so finely divided that it almost looks as if they were in whorl around the stem.

The plants I saw were all 3-6 inches tall; I’ve read that it grows taller in the shade but I haven’t seen any in the shade.
