The leaves are all in a basal-rosette, the flowering spike extends about 2 inches above the leaves. Flowers are small with 4 deeply-notched petals (so there often appear to be 8 petals) with 6 stamens.

I have seen the blooming all over Forbush meadow in March. I have seen seeds in the same place in October.
