Micranthes californica

Wildflowers Dicots Saxifragales Saxifragaceae Micranthes

California Saxifrage (formerly Saxifraga californica.

I assumed these were Mission stars at first, but the basal leaves here are larger and more obvious, and there are no upper leaves. The stem is also thicker, and the flowers tend to occur in clusters.

I’ve only seen them on the back side of Arroyo Burro trail. Seen blooming in March.
