Toyon.

First seen blooming in mid-June. Common. A shrub or small tree with great bursts of small (6mm) white flowers with 5 separate petals and 10 stamens. The leaves are long, narrow and toothed.

In November or thereabouts bright red berries appear, these can last until February.
