Grows in the back country. Seen along the full length of Upper Manzana trail (from NIRA to the Sisquoc River), on Lost Valley Trail, backside of Little Pine (Santa Cruz trail), and a small patch on Camino Cielo between Refugio and Broadcast peak. Seen blooming in February and March of 2015. It regenerates from rootstock.
