Cortaderia jubata

Wildflowers Monocots Poales Poaceae Cortaderia

Pampas grass. This is a South American import. These were grown commercially in SB for their fronds, and can now be found scattered across the country-side, even on the trails.

There were actually two closely related species grown here and distinguishing between them is almost impossible, so I don’t bother.
