Wildflowers Dicots Caryophyllales Nyctaginaceae Mirabilis

Wishbone bush. Seen on Cold Spring trail in a couple of places.

Formerly known as Mirabilis californica.

First observed blooming in February. Seems more likely to bloom in the afternoon than the morning (I presume that’s the basis for the family name “Four o’clocks”).
