Malacothrix saxatilis saxatilis

Wildflowers Dicots Eudicots Asterids Asterales Asteraceae Cichorieae Malacothrix

Seaside daisy.

Found on ocean bluffs (often right down where the bluff hits the beach). Blooms all year.

There are several other subspecies in our area, generally known as Cliff Aster. These have smaller flowers, fewer leaves and are on the trails not the beach.
