Carduus tenuiflorus

Wildflowers Dicots Eudicots Asterids Asterales Asteraceae Cynareae Carduus

Slender thistle. Non-native, an invader from Europe. Found along roadsides, and on the lower reaches of our trails.

First observed blooming in April. Still blooming in July.

Blooms later than the milk thistle, but has a smaller bloom and no white veins on its leaves. Blooms earlier than the star thistles, and the native thistles.
